I want to explore an important topic in this blog. The use of client photographs on social media and websites. As a photographer I understand the significance of privacy and respecting each client's right to keep their images offline. It is also crucial to acknowledge that being able to showcase recent work online is an incredibly powerful marketing tool and this is how you and other potential clients discover my services.
There is a balance that has to be struck and in this digital age, social media and websites have become valuable platforms for photographers like myself to attract new clients. By featuring select client photographs online, artists can effectively demonstrate skills, creativity, and their unique style to a wide audience. However, it is essential to approach this with sensitivity, and I am incredibly mindful of ensuring the protection clients' privacy and respecting their wishes regarding image usage.
Privacy is a fundamental right, and as a photographer I always prioritise and respect the choices made by my clients. To ensure that everyone is on the same page I make sure that permission to use images is one of the key things highlighted from the outset. Consent is requested and signed for by each client and should this not be something that a particular client is happy with, images will not be shared on any public platform by myself. After all, I am only looking to build relationships with my clients that are built on trust and professionalism.
I am always grateful when clients grant permission for me to use their photographs. As a creative person, my heart and soul goes into every photoshoot and edit, and being able to collaboratively share the excitement of new artwork with my client's friends, family and further afield is such a fulfilling feeling. I love seeing the comments dropping in as my clients receive love, joy, support and encouragement from others.
With consent given by clients, I am able to curate a selection of my best client photographs. This is all in an effort to demonstrate my expertise, style, and versatility as a photographer. Potential clients search for photographers online and these images form the basis for their decision to reach out for a conversation about their next shoot. With new work being fed into my portfolio on a regular basis, I am able to provide an up-to-date representation of my creativity. This allows prospective clients to envision themselves in photographs taken by myself, and I can continue to do what I love.
So to each and every client who has allowed me to share their photographs, I can not thank you enough. I hope that by navigating this balance with empathy, we can continue to harness the power of celebrating beautiful photography that captures you and your favourite people. Remember, it is through this collaboration that clients like you, find us photographers, and by showcasing our images responsibly, we can continue to share our passion with the world.
